In addition to amazing free resources, the internet is home to charlatans, haters and scam artists. Snopes.com is an independent website dedicated to fact-checking urban legends, news and the internet. They do not take funds from political parties, religious groups, or government agencies. A remarkable look at the internet
The Internet Archive (also known as the WayBack Machine) is a nonprofit digital library with the stated mission of “universal access to all knowledge.” It provides free public access to collections of digitized materials. They have archived 298 billion web pages. In addition to its archiving function, the Archive is an activist organization, advocating for a free and open Internet. It doesn’t get much better than this. Archive.org
